I'm almost finished my first course and I love it but I was wondering how the original distance ONLY degree and MA's do in the ESL marketplace out of curiousity (I'm not a teacher btw).
I think they will go down very well with employers in the UK but abroad in the ESL community i'm not so sure. Do people view distance as more of a cop out and view bricks and mortar as superior? Or does it only matter with MA's and such like? ie. It would be better to get a distance MA with a bit of uncertainty to it like a MA from the Univ of xxxx, rather than OU which doesn't leave any room for misinterpretation? Thanks all.
I'm talking about qualifications in ELT themed subjects btw with this post. Ta. |

I'm not thinking of applying anywhere atm. I've to continue my studies and get myself Tesol qualified. China in time though. OU would be fine there from what I've read.
My post was just a general question though. I was hoping to guage the respect the OU brand and other distance qualifications carry in teh esl worlds |
