Anyone here ever worked for EmbassyCES (specifically in New York)? Do they offer Health Insurance? What amount do they remove from your check for tax purposes? Thanks for any info. |

I haven't worked for EmbassyCES, but almost went to an interview with them but found other work. EmbassyCES is a New York City conversation school and as such they pay by the hour (about 18 per hour) without health benefits. Most places in NYC pay something like that (sometimes a 4-5 dollars more depending on experience) with little or no additional benefits. Most conversation school work (I haven't encountered any that is not) is technically part time work. You may need to string more that 1 job here to make it on that in NYC. Again as posted elsewhere here, the fastest route to reasonably well-paid teaching work in NYC is public school teaching. Private grade schools you can get into without state licensing, but the pay is muich less although you may get health care benefits. |
