Ok. I figure I give an update on what I decided.
I know it's expensive to move to Japan, and I honestly can't afford to go to Canada, so I turned down the interview offer. But I was able to get some phone call interviews. Two for Korea (through recruiters) and one in a rural town in Japan. The Korea one went well, and my other interviews will happen within the next week. I want Japan, but as long as I can teach English and start my career, I am not opposed to Korea. Just one more language for me to learn. Heh. ^^;; |

it sounds like you made the right choice. i drove 7 hours to toronto for an interview only to be rejected but i kept an attitude that if i don't get a job at least i'll have a fun vacation and i did. sounds like you need all the money you can get and i'm assuming you're also further away than i was. who knows what exactly they're looking for but i heard even if you do get accepted you can be put on a long waiting list.
now i'm in korea, i'm having a good time, it's cheap, beautiful girls, great food, yea, it's another language to learn but it's similar to japanese in many ways so i'm picking it up quickly.
lacks the glamour of japan but everything comes at a cost. i say if you can't get to japan come here, it's better than sitting around in the states waiting for a job that might not come. at least here you're right next door to japan and lots of koreans can speak japanese too if you want to practice both languages. |
