Hi everyone, what are the best schools to teach in in Vietnam? I am particularly interested in teaching uni students/adults, and would like to get into teaching IELTS/ exam prep in preference to kids, if possible.

There is Uni work here, and it's almost always part time. The organization and the resources depend on the University.

If you have studied the IELTS exam procedures and know the test and how to teach it, then you can possibly find IELTS work. |

As a general rule (not sure if it's written or unwritten) ILA likes to give new teachers young learner classes for the first 6 months. This changes of course if you have previous experience with adults or with exam prep. If you're a new teacher though you can request to teach adults, but the majority of your classes will most likely be kids.
From what I know of RMIT, you'd be teaching University students there. The students in Vietnam are really hardworking and eager to learn English. If they're at RMIT they should speak English at at least the pre-intermediate level which means you won't be teaching any beginners. I'd imagine that there would be exam prep courses there as well, but I've never worked there so I don't want to put my foot in my mouth. |
