What a wonderful thing perspective is; and I truly mean that without the slightest smidgeon of sarcasm.

Dear Cuffs,
I agree - perspective, attitude, and an appreciation of relativity.
Regards,

Hah hah I am only in my late 20s but my things to do list probably sounds like an older lady.
What I meant by that is it is European cafe style... I like reading over a cup of coffee or doing work (mountain loads of marking) in a coffee shop with a good ambience. It ended up being Starbucks in Korea and Singapore but Crustys has that same sort of ambience.
I tend not to get my work done with friends or my husband around unless they are working too, so finding a place where I can sit comfortably alone is great.
Well I am off to the beach! Saudi is certainly not as bad as everyone says it is! |

Which just goes to show... everything really is relative!
Compared to Buraidah, Jeddah (or Riyadh) really would seem like Paris in comparison. Thing about Jeddah is that it's great if you're located in the glamorous north side of town, but the run-down south side is almost like another city. Particularly as it can take about an hour to travel across town through Jeddah's awful traffic. In terms of infrastructure and 'livablity' I prefer Riyadh. |

Almost like another city?!? Try another country!!!
Having lived in the deep south for around 6 months and been around the plush(er) north quite a bit (and I live in between!), you can be assured that I have experience of pretty much ALL of Jeddah. It is an informed decision, of that you have my word... |

I'm glad that you found yer lil' piece o' heaven. However, you cannot judge the ENTIRE sandbox by Jeddah. Whilst a filthy city, a respite nonetheless...

Hiya Lizzie,
Fabulous that you are having a nice time- its amazing what a positive frame of mind and life plan can do .
Are those private beaches fr women only? we are based in Riyadh so would like to rent out a beach villa or the like...any ideas would be gratefully received. |

| Scot 47, I was at the Italian club for one of the Jeddah International Film Festival Showings... I think it is my favourite embassy. British Embassy has that area where they build a screen on top of the garage but the Italian Club wins hands down. |
