I am headed to Turkey pretty soon and I was just wondering what documents do schools generally need. Do I need an apostille for my background check or diploma?

I would be interested in this information, too. Do I need to get a police certificate in the States before coming over to Turkey? I know some countries require them and others don't. I just don't want to get over there and realize I've forgotten something!

Things are pretty slack in Turkey, I don't know anyone who has needed a back ground check. If you already have a job, I assume your employers have asked for your docs. If you don't have a job, bring all evidence of qualifications.

You buy the visa at the airport when you get here, just follow the signs. Schools usually organise and pay for the residence and work visas, if it's the right kind of school.

Hi there,

I was required to bring the following;

Police certificates from each country I had worked in (this could be the schools requirement)

24 passport size photos (Yes they were all needed eventually)

Originals of my teaching degree and teacher certification (school had notarised copies done and I kept the original) The transcript was important so they could assess my degree.

Marriage certificate

CV

Health report (stating I was in good health and did not carry any infectious disease or have a disability - more for the medical insurance I think)

If you are bringing a family, children's birth certificates plus any relevant custody orders

If you have a job the school should provide you with a list of documents to bring. It is a good idea to scan your documents just in case anything goes missing, including your passport.

Hope this helps
Very Happy Very Happy

Don't be surprised to find you don't actually need any of that once you get here, most schools and Uni's just aren't orgnised enough to deal with that level of admin.
