I was offered a job with SBC, medina. The offer was o.k. I accepted and then they wrote me back saying that they only offer single status visas. \i thought a woman was not even allowed to travel to KSA alone. Did they change their mind about me and use the visa as an excuse?

There are a number of single women members on this board who traveled to Saudi on their own.

Many jobs only offer only single status visas... for both male and female teachers.

Life is easier for the Master if the domestics, servants and slaves are single.

I WANT to travel with my family! is there any way of "negotiating" for a family visa?
Should I be asking if a family visa is offered or available b4 i even trouble myself with all the endless emmails and scanned documents?

It's becoming more and more common for employers to offer only single status jobs to teachers, male and female. The reasons are obvious: employing single teachers is a lot cheaper and more hassle-free for employers.

This is another of those questions which only the employer can really answer. It might be possible for you to negotiate some kind of deal whereby the school agrees to bring over your family but you will be responsible for any and all expenses realted to them - flight tickets, iqamas, health insurance, housing etc. Ask your employers - they are the only people who can provide a definite answer.

Its much harder to find female teachers in KSA, so unless you have a very good offer, I would look elsewhere. You are in the drivers seat (Ill let the irony of the previous statement hang for awhile).

I'm with Cleo on this one. The question is too serious to wait around hoping for an answer. Get the biggest hot shot you can find at the university on the telephone, and ask him for a direct answer. He will try to hem and haw and give you many "inshalllah" answers, but refuse to accept the job or do any paperwork until you have a 100% guarantee about your family coming with you.

It may be that the company is too cheap to bring families. It may be that the housing they offer is unsuitable or that there are no appropriate schools in the area. Whatever it is, don't waste your time with any of their paperwork until you know their answer for sure.

So, I was correct on the other thread. You are posting drunk. You might want to send a PM to a Moderator and ask that he delete that embarrassing collection of... umm... posts.
