Been offered, out of the blue-after a rather mediocre 15 minute interview a position with this school via a South African recruiter. Basic salary-6900.00 per month +3500.00 'monthly allowance'. Before anybody says 'try the search facility' -I did. Wasn't working! Is this worth pursuing? is it real?

When I arrived in the UAE in 1992, I was paid over 10,000 a month plus benefits - with an MA. But, I think that should answer the question. (presuming that you have a BA, a TEFL cert if it is for EFL, and a bit of experience)

I've never heard of these people, but if that is a scam, it must be a joke. Laughing

Wesgreen in Sharjah is a real school (in that it has a building and students) but I only have 3rd or 4th hand info and it is several years old. The person I knew about stayed because their spouse had a "decent" job with HCT and they were looking to keep busy in their profession and get paid better than language school wages.

My husband recently worked there. He was frustrated with the absolute lack of discipline with many of the kids and the administration on a daily basis. Every day he had a new tale. He wouldn't go back if he were offered three times the money.
