Does anyone know a good, inexpensive gym in the Warsaw center? I'm just looking for the basics - weights and machines. I don't need smoothies, a sauna, or pilates classes. |

Jeeze. Nobody lifts weights in this city? Are the tefl-er's in Warsaw just a soggy, flabby mess?
Or have you all been sucked in to those trendy, all-inclusive 'fitness complexes'? (almost happened to me last week. But I decided it wasn't worth paying 200+ zl / mo. for saunas, coffee bars, and treadmills with TVs I'll probably never use) |

You could try the Palestra kickboxing gym on Prymasa Tysiaclecia. It's 120 zl a month and you can do Muay Thai classes. I have been thinking about joining one of these days. |

Just buy some dumb bells, a bar bell, some plates and one of those bars you stick in a door frame for pull-ups. You can do a lot of stuff at home with simple equipment (see the YouTubes) and I find myself working out much more when I don't have to make a trip somewhere. |

I found a decent little place, Powerhouse, on Tamka 40 not far from Nowy Swiat. It's about 100 zł / month and has all the basic equipment: free weights. machines, treadmills, etc.. The place is practically empty from 12-3.
Palestra looks cool but I'm not disciplined enough to join a Muay Thai gym right now. |

If I make it to Wawa I will come and work out with you.
100pln isn't bad for a gym at all. I hope where ever I end up has one. |

wojbrian, if you want an even cheaper alternative, perhaps you can work out an arrangement with hrvatski to use his door frame and pull-up bar for, say, 20 zł / mo.? Just an idea! |
