Hi, has anyone got any information about English Unlimited in Moscow? They are currently advertising both full time and part time positions. Are they a reputable organisation? Do they deliver what they promise?
Thanks |

Freelanced there 2005-6 had no problems and was treated quite well by the director Maria Rumina. The only reason I didn't go contract is because I valued my freedom and she unfortunately had weekend classes for her fulltimers. Maria is still there last I heard. Work???She has plenty. Just tell her what you need. |

Thanks for the reply. I've not heard much about them, but what I have heard has been quite positive. |

Maria is likely hiring for Sept too so I'd contact her now if I were interested. She will help you find a flat too if needed. |

I see their site is almost entirely in Russian. I can navigate it alright, but the information is going to be way beyond me . Does this school only have an interest in fluent Russian speakers? |

The owner is a Russian lady married to an American and as one person who dealt with her previously has posted already, she does have regular work and pays on time. However, she is also very 'picky' about who she employs and to be honest,I found her very cool and detached and hard to make a conversation with.As I was later advised, this was probably because she was not impressed with my academic qualifications and had already more or less decided that my work experience and personality etc. didn't count-she never contacted me after the interview but in any case I would not have worked for her anyway-bad vibes etc?
I would also advise anyone else to check out carefully where exactly she expects you to go around town to teach lessons and at what times, before agreeing to anything-Moscow is a big place, commuting is a lot of hassle, especially in peak hours and winter will soon be here again! |

Yes- she's careful about who she hires and goes for ppl w/ qualifications and experience. It's definitely not a place for newbies out of college and or non serious teachers. |
