This thread has information about - or at least mention of - Oxford Seminars: http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=79989&highlight=oxford+seminars

I tried to cut and past my search results but Dave's wouldn't let me. You might want to do a search for other threads where Oxford Seminars has been discussed - sometimes extensively.

I did Oxford Seminars about three years ago, before coming o China. I was still in university at the time so, like you, my availability for training was limited to weekends. The job I eventually got was one that I could have easily found without Oxford Seminars or even a degree. To be honest, I would not rate my performance during my first year in the classroom as particularly good by any means. The summer after my first year I decided that I had not had adequate training, and took a 120 hour course with a live teaching component. Ive been a lot more confident about my teaching since.

A lot of teachers at my school have the Oxford Seminars certificate, and seem to have very inflated ideas of its worth. I know there is one couple who only have Oxford Seminars and no university degrees, but are absolutely convinced that this will qualify them to work in Saudi Arabia next year. I can see where they get this idea, though, considering the certs website lists Germany as one of the top destinations for its trainees, and a job in that country is a long shot for Americans with much better qualifications.

I will say that I used the job placement service through the Oxford Seminars course and really loved the school that I ended up at, to the point where Im about to begin my third year there, even though Ive done more training since. I also had fun taking the course, and I suppose it was better than showing up with no training whatsoever, which I could have done and landed the same job I currently have. The course books for the Oxford Seminars class are also fairly helpful and well written.
