That's enough about Korea for this thread and this board.
If you want to discuss Korea, please do it on the Korean board.
If it continues here, this thread will not and there will be sanctions.

so to work in thailand in a private language centre with adult classes you need-a full criminal record check from the UK going back 20 years, take health tests, leave the country to trigger the work visa and also pay up for it yourself.
I have also heard face to face there is no criminal record check beyond a local Royal Thai police check in Bangkok, no health check required and no need to leave the country.
Which version is true? Person I spoke to worked 7 years in Thailand to 2010. |

Both are true. Different sets of circumstances.
IF you are applying for a "B" visa from your home country you will need the CRC (Thai embassy requirement for a visa to be a teacher). You will take your medical exam in Thailand.
IF you apply "in country" then the CRC is at the discretion of the immigration officer when they are changing your tourist visa to a "B" visa. IF you are qualified (and have more than 21 days left on your visa) you do NOT have to leave the country to change your status.

| So what sort of record in the past 20 years would get you rejected for a work permit in Thailand? Are they looking for felonies, or misdemeanors, or is just being arrested with no eventual conviction is bad? |
