It's a problem that's never going to go away.
When I was in Thailand last year I got talking to an American guy, 60 year old. Lives in The Philippines, told me he's had 6 wives. Then boasted he's currently living with two girls - 16 and 20 years old. 'They're great' he said 'When I'm too tired to go they take care of each other'

I also had the misfortune of spending 2 nights in Pattaya. Awful place! Seeing 60 odd year old blokes walking down the street hand-in-hand with young thai boys Sad
At least in China the prostitution is discreet!

Senor.

My sources have confirmed that you have always had a steak down your pants.

I don't know if this goes with the sex tourism thing. I'll post it here anyhow. I share an apartment with someone who has an "alternative lifestyle". While my other aparmentmate and I are tolerant with his preferances, he refuses to be tolerant with us. Example: roommate's girlfriend comes over tocook dinner, said "alternative" person informs the management that she's spending the night. I also found out 3 days ago that we're smoking dope in the apartment as well, according to him. My normal roomie told me that the guy starts this nonsense after he realizes he's not going to get anything from any of the other roommates.
Everyone's had iceholes for roommates etc. This one takes the cake. My normal roomie's (I'm gonna get flamed for this one I'm sure!) girl is banned from the apartment as are most females in general. Fortunately, I'm married and my wife can visit (she lives in another town 'cos of work) regardless of what "mister soft touch" says or feels. Our roommate who doesn't like girls has at least 2 different "partners" spend the night during the week. This bothers me because the fat loser is like 46 and the "friends" are 18 if even that, and some are even students in the firm where we work.
I've decided to move out ASAP. The sad thing is that rumor has it that "mister soft touch" is going to be made head teacher of the branch where we work. He's already told us, during a discussion that he's going to do everything within his power to have us fired.
Why do people insist on wanting tolerance for their intolerance? This being Turkey, they would seldom allow male and female teachers to live together so why hetero and homo?

No matter who is more at fault, it's obvious that you and your hetero apartment mate aren't going to resolve your problems with your other apartment mate. Apparently, the situation has deteriorated to spreading rumors, gossiping, tattling to the management, and threats to get people fired from their jobs. The added stress to all of you isn't worth trying to maintain the current living arrangements. Assuming yours is a serious post rather than a troll, I think your wisest move would be to move.

I must say that you certainly don't sound like the tolerant type in your post. If you come across in your apartment dealings in the homophobic way that you've come across here, I doubt that you are as tolerant as you seem to think you are. Calling an apartment mate a "fat loser" and "mister soft touch" doesn't really lend itself to painting a picture of a tolerant person in my opinion. You might want to think a little more about your own views on the subject.

Yes, it does sound like your alternative-lifestyle apartment mate has a couple of them right now. Wink

I haven't said anything in the post that I wouldn't say to his face. I just started working for this firm less than a month ago. The point is, he is fat and he is a loser. His sexual persuasion aside, I've never dealt with a bigger somunabunchin icehole. How would you describe someone who sits around moaning about how they "used to be rich" and has a major cardiac because one of the roommates leaves a dirty pan on the stove? This is the same guy who has no qualms about eating other people's food, using things without asking etc etc. It's a nice case of "Do as I say and not as I do". Should my other roommate and I go and tattle to the management about him having his "partners" spend the night? He makes stuff up to talk to management about. We dont have to. It's fun living with a manchild. If he brings another student over to the apartment, I'm tempted to call management while they're there. I've been around and dealt with alot of nonsense, but the childishness, arrogance, and whining is starting to grate me. "mister soft hands" or whatever I said refers to the facts that he has offered both of us massages, and despite having a shaved head goes to the barber at least once a week for them. It's not exactly normal if you ask me.

Dear Mr. Kodak,
If he's pulling two different just turned eighteen year olds every week, he doesn't sound like too much of a loser to me!

Mr Kodak,

I feel for you!!!, that sounds like a truly awful situation to be in and your flatmate sounds like a megalomanic and a freak. You need to move out, I think!

We're all adults here and in this profession, so if we have overnight guests, male of female, that really has to be out business and your flatmate has no right to complain, unless one of these women is stealing or something.

One point though - your point about how gay and straight people shouldn't be asked to share is ridiculous, there is no way you can screen people on that criteria, as that is just begging discrimination. Neither should men and women not be allowed to share.

I'll go with Scot47 on this, don't share with anyone unless you've known and loved them for years, or you're sharing a bed.

I think that's a bit extreme. I share a house with 3 other teachers; maybe I'm just really lucky but they're fine to share a house with for the contract. One of the ladies has her local boyfriend stay overnight regularly - I couldn't care less as he seems like a decent bloke.

However, if I were extending and staying for a second year (I ain't), I would probably look into getting a place of my own.

If you are happy to share accommodation then that is up to you.

I would not share under any circumstances - ever. I put that behind mme when I graduated !

The Rules of Sharing Accomodation:

1) Never share with the owner.

2) Never share with a couple.

3) Never sign anything.

4) Never get involved with a flatmate.

5) Never allow freeloading gf's/bf's.

Or for those whose foolishness knows some bounds:

1) Never share.

Sorry to hear about your current situation ,it seems there are two of you and only one of him ,why don't you do it to him before he does it to you ?I don't ' think your mutal employer would take it very kindly if he saw one of these visitors leaving your fat losers bed or what ever all you need is photographic evidence ,can't you at least do something about it ? Don't let this merchant banker win .
