Dear Johnslat

Thanks for that, a great tribute.

Of course, a wonderful epitaph from Yeats himself:

Seem to be many great epitaphs from that corner of the world. Every hear of a comedian called Spike Milligan? A member of the Goons. Best epitaph ever has got to be his: 'I told you I was sick'. Great, great man. Gets us laughing even in death.

Send 'em on. I've got something like a major good-bye letter to deliver and a couple of very tricky social events as well. Need guys with sharp suits and discrete wires (and iron at hand as needed). Cool

Dear spiral78,

Written By Warren Zevon
c. 1978 Zevon Music/BMI

"I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the
Russians, too?

I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this, hyeah

I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock
and a hard place
And I'm down on my luck
Yes I'm down on my luck
Well I'm down on my luck

I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The shit has hit the fan

All right
Send lawyers, guns and money
Huh!
Uh...
Send lawyers, guns and money
Uhh!
Send lawyers, guns and money
Hyah!
Send lawyers, guns and money
Ooh!
Yeah!
Yeah
Yeah...
Uh!"

I know Sasha will appreciate the Russian reference.

Regards,
John

Dear Johnslat

Not bad, though sadly they are cheering on the wrong team, foo!

This charming little vid has a lot more to offer though in terms of Slavic grace...
