I suspect I know the answer, but I changed my name a couple years when I was christmated into the Orthodox church. The catch is I only added a middle name (IE most people/organizations do not care).

My passport has my old 3-names, my drivers license my current 4. This actually has sometimes come in handy, say for some reason my documents come up with one or the other, I can easily pull out the identification I need.

Obviously the driver's license is not going to come in much use abroad. But should I get a new passport or since it is a middle name just not worry about it (not sure why I cannot just register tickets and such with my first and last name, or even the three as long as it matches my passport)...

Like I said, I suspect I know the answer. I was just going to get it updated (though I hate to lose all those entry stamps Crying or Very sad) but it is not necessarily cheap.

Not sure I understand the issue. As far as I know, religious ceremonies do not automatically alter official names, so your name on your passport is still your 'correct' name, in terms of visas etc.

In any case, if you wanted to change your name on a new passport, I think you still keep the old passport, but the corners will be clipped off it to invalidate it.

Yea, I went to court and had it legally changed.

Yea, I have an old passport with a hole punched through it. Actually probably would not hurt since I lost about a hundred pounds and some piercings. And for some reason the picture is absolutely horrible (incredibly dark), it was never a serious issue abroad before, but they definitely spent some more time analyzing it at some of the airports.
