Selam!
I have been out of the teaching world for some time, and I would like to know when are the best times to apply for work in the schools? Private and otherwise. I am coming there end of July, will be getting my CTEFL there in Ist., then plan to look for work.
The time will be late August, early September when I start to beat the pavement looking for employment. Is this a good time of year?
I also have a Bachelors Degree (In Japanese language) and 2.5 years teaching experience in Japan. Although that was 10 years ago... I've been working in Post Production Television and Film for 7 years now. Previously in advertising.
What are my chances to find good opportunities?!! Any thoughts or recommendations?
Best regs,
L. |

No worries. That's probably the best time to look for work and with a degree, CELTA and experience you will probably be snapped up.
You may not be able to work legally if recruited locally though. You may have the option of returning to your place of origin to comply with the paperwork or working unofficially. At present it is thought that work visas can only be issued from your native country. It may change.
Good luck. |
