Sorry, but what's the point of this post?
This is an ESL site, not a 'how do I pack' site! Only you can decide how much luggage you want to take and how to carry it. |

Personally I would just buy a couple large suitcases... and the allowed one carry-on. The way airlines abuse your stuff... get the cheapest that you can find.
I traveled for many many years and have never seen the point of "luggage sets." If I needed to take stuff back home with me at the end, I headed down to the souq and purchased some nice cheap pieces and shipped the stuff back. If I needed a smaller one for a short vacation... back to the souq for a cheapie.

Much as it causes me pain to agree with a mere feline, I have to say that VS is right. |

Try to pack as lite as possible. Going to work thru yer recruiter will certainly send you packing off soon after and the emotional luggage that you will carry will be more than sufficient!

Citizenkane, what say you to a backpack, in plaid? And boots and luggage, in matching alligator hide? |

And either get a distinctive color on your large suitcase(s), or tape distinguishing marks on them. Big black ones all look the same, and baggage handlers like to put ALL the big black ones upside down so you can't see tags or anthing distinguishing on them. Then Riyadh arrival passengers and their porters take YOURS off the carousel and just leave it on the floor if it isn't theirs. I goofed this time and didn't put any special tapes or anything on mine. I found it on the floor later. Next time I'll use my teal-colored one. I seldom see that color in a large suitcase.
I had exactly 50 lbs of goodies in it brought back from the US, including electronics--media converter (for usb to tv); external hard drive, watches, calculator and a Blu-ray player...and a six-month supply of EmergenC. Went right through. |
