I think Fujisan is just stirring with a huge wooden spoon possibly in a poor attempt at trolling.

Our branch at least is not having issues. Always paid on time, what they promised, don't deduct pay if we are allowed to leave early or given days off pay (I've heard that it has happened in other branches) and we get paid extra for attending Interac meetings. They got yet more contracts this summer and have even hired more permanent brach staff to handle the growing work load.

Interac also openned a new branch this year... hardly signs that the company is in so much trouble that they might have problems paying people next month.

Besides, unless Fujisan is branch/head office staff, how would they know about plans not to pay us in October when the September payday hasn't even been and gone yet.

As for the changes; yes there are some changes happening in October. But the fact that Interac even printed it in this months newsletter and then sent out an electronic copy, it's hardly a secret, so I'm not sure why Fujisan is being so cloak and dagger about it.

I'm not bashing Interac, but they did cut their pay this March from 25,000 to 23,000, and it seems as though they used the econ as an excuse to do it. It seems as though things are getting more and more shady.

I've heard it too, what is going on in Oct?

ICs are all across the board. I've heard some stories about people having great ones and others who had a hell of a time trying to get their IC to be useful at all.

Unfortunately, my IC was a Super Christian Convert Japanese lady who basically just wanted to "spread the word" instead of help me get anything done. And despite the fact that she seriously didn't speak English, and I speak Japanese, she wouldn't let me near when I had to go get official things done, so I had to try to put up with her crappy English explanations later instead of being allowed to listen in on Japanese conversations I could definitely understand and participate in.

She wasn't even from the town I live in, so she had no idea where anything was, and we spent half the day pulled over on the side of roads while she stared at maps and muttered angrily to herself.

The highlight of the day was when she threw a fit because I refused to say a prayer before she and her daughter (oh yeah, she dragged along her 6?8? year old kid with us all day) started eating dinner. I didn't get to eat all day because they went to a restaurant that only had a ticket machine, and I, freshly arrived, had nothing but 1man bills. And no, they wouldn't consider going somewhere else so I could actually eat, or let me stop in a conbini or something so I could break down my bills.

Not a happy day... but like I said, I've heard other people have GREAT ICs who are helpful and friendly and accommodating, so it just depends on how bad or good your luck is.

Wow, that's really horrible. I hope you wrote a long, detailed email to the company about that afterward. I can't believe that she really made you sit and wait while she ate instead of going somewhere to break the bill. Was it something along the lines of getting back at you for making her schlep around all day?

Yeah, ICs, like managers and branch staff, really can vary.

They are paid to schlep, so that's no excuse to be so horrible. And you'd think that they would be happy to let you sort things yourself if you wish to... they get paid regardless.

At our meeting a few weeks ago, one of our MCs told an ALT to be careful about what they told their IC, because at a dinner they had mentioned something about private students and the IC, after interrogating the ALT for details, had then contacted the authorities to tell on them... apart from the ALT wasn't doing anything wrong, which Interac had to explain when they were later contacted regarding the ALT.

Seems I've been quite lucky on the IC front.

I'm still receiving my 25man. So that may very well be a branch thing... as I've said many times before, there are some really bad branches in Interac.

Basically Interac is just one of a number Selnate/Maxceed companies, but it has become the most well known. So to take advantage of the strength of the Interac brand, all of the companies are going to reorganised under a single banner, the Interac Group. The reorganisation and rebranding is set for Oct 1st.

Yeah you have man, it's like pick a baby sitter at the needle exchange or so it seems.

Ok that makes sense. I thought they were going to reshuffle some debt or what not around in a shell game. Which may make people lose jobs. Ok so it's not so bad. I thought it was silly to be working for Maxceed anyhow.
