That took me back to the 1st Gulf War... low-flying B-52s were a weekly sight from our balcony in Jeddah. I had just turned a teenager a few months prior Cool.

Oh boy are you wrong on this one. (or were you joking?) I don't need to listen to any youtube. I grew up 19 miles south of a major SAC base where the majority of B-52s are based in the US. Many is the time that they used my hometown for pretend bombing runs. (at least they haven't dropped anything yet)

Truth be told, I saw one today... making a lazy circle. But, it is obviously an optical illusion. Nothing that big could really fly.

Yeah...that was a HUGE tongue-in-cheek (You know better than that! Very Happy ) statement! I didn't want to mention where you were from on the board, but you did. Get that everybody...VS grew up near a military base...that oughta narrow down anybody's search! Laughing

I'm not really sure why anyone would care where I grew up. I barely care. Cool

It is like how my students would try to figure out my age. They would try asking innocent questions like how old were you when you got a driving license. Then a couple weeks later another student would ask how long I'd been driving. They thought that they were so clever.

I remember the B-52's taking off from Jeddah. I was teaching at the SAMAREC Training Centre, right under the flight path.
