How much could I expect to save in Wenzhou on 6200- 6500 RMB a month? I'd be aiming to save about half of it. How easy would that be? |

it's fairly easy if you don't like to spend too much and can control yourself.
My accommodation is also provided and I get by most months on about RMB1000-2000 for food (incl. eating out) and other items. I also go on a splurge every three months or so where I take a nice trip or something. |

You can save.
You'll do good. Remember, you can eat two pretty good meals a day for about 15 RMB a day. |

Including rent? What do you spend it on? Do you eat out every day? Play the ponies? Smoke opium? Have three wives? Where does the money go?
(serious question) |

I have previously posted an example budget that would-be teachers can reference. I'll copy it below:
-3,000 rent
-1,200 food
-250 utilities
-250 transportation
-5,000 world's oldest profession
-5,000 massages
-2,000 "haircuts"
-1,300 alcohol
Total: 18,000
Looks like you may be a bit low! |

I worry that the figures for the last four are grossly underestimated. |

-5,000 world's oldest profession <--- if you got to pay for it you must be doing somthing wrong.
-5,000 massages <--- is this on a daily basis, you might save a bit if it was combined with the above.
-2,000 "haircuts" <--- If you need to have your hair cut on a monthly basis, do you get a free back shave thrown in with it? I only have to shave once a week,(not my back) and get a cut twice a year
-1,300 alcohol
Total: 18,000 |

I dont know WenZhou and I dont know you, but it should certainly be possible to save half and still enjoy China. If you are the type who insists on buying imported cheese and drinking Guiness on draft at a Western bar it might be hard though! Having a Western taste can burn through money pretty quickly.
One other thing that is rarely mentioned, is how house proud you are! My last housemate used to venture out and almost always come back with a new tablecloth, some flowers and a vase etc. As a consequence my house looked quite nice, but she never had any money |

The OP did note that accommodations were already paid for (but didn't say about utilities). |

Depending on the girl you date 5000 might be cheaper than an actually wife or girlfriend. |
