| 5,000 RMB a month for Comfort Girls ? What ? |
Yes, wanted to comment before, can just say painfully sad.
As for saving, with no ball and chain you should be able to comfortably save half after adjustment (buying necessary kitchen utensils, clothing, bedding, bathroom things, ect). If you are into other things that might take up cash, buying a bike, computer, camera, blah blah. Once settled though, putting away half or more shouldn't be hard if you are careful. |

| Quite understandble if one has not since yet established well, loneliness may rise up, a comfort relationship for currency value may seem the prudent opportunity. However, if the salary intake is below adequate then how would you make payment for all needful issues while still acquiring the companionship? Better to well establish, secure the requirables such as sofa, bed, coffee table, apartment and etc., then spend surplus intake on massage, friendship, etc. You'll not afford payment. |

I have previously posted an example budget that would-be teachers can reference. I'll copy it below:
-3,000 rent
-1,200 food
-250 utilities
-250 transportation
-5,000 world's oldest profession
-5,000 massages
-2,000 "haircuts"
-1,300 alcohol
Total: 18,000
Looks like you may be a bit low! |

I have been offered a position in Wenzhou, but the monthly salary is 4800 RMB, although accommodations are included.
Is this enough to live comfortably? |

Yes. As long as by "live comfortably," you mean "practice celibacy."
Just kidding. (Kind of.) It is cutting it kind of close. It will meet living expenses, by you might want to have some savings on hand going in. |

| I have some savings but obviously I would prefer not to dip into them. Maybe it would be possible to supplement my income with some private tutoring? Is this easy to do? |

| Not hard to do, but hard to get consistency from private students. A lot of no-shows, a lot of hassle. You might make an extra 1,000 a month from it without too terribly much effort, but beyond that the hassle might be too great. |

I have been offered another position just outside of Wenzhou (Long gang), better pay of 7000 RMB per month for 25 teaching hours but I would share accommodations with another teacher and would have to pay for some utilities which from what I have been told is roughly 200-300 RMB per month.
Also, my first month of the contract, I would only get paid 5000 RMB as it is a "training period". Is that common? Thanks in advance for everyone's advice. |
