A small query, if you will, in regards to UK taxation.

From my research, I understand that expats are not liable to be income-taxed if they are out of the country for a certain number of days, and if they're not considered 'resident'

Is there anything else to be aware of? And (excuse the somewhat 'freshy' question) does forwarding money to a UK bank account mean it's liable to be taxed?

Thanks

Um...you have the initials wrong...it's UC. And it stands from Union Carbide. Now, I understand that with the word "Union" incorporated into it's name, it can be confusing as "Corporations" do in fact, have unions.

But with 'Union" Carbide, this is a fallacy. The unions which represent the world-wide workforce of Union Carbide workers DO actually require that it's members hand over a part of their paychecks to the union leadership. These monies are used for things such a hall rentals, travel by union officials, refreshments at meetings and so forth.

However, these funds are not called "taxes" as taxes are only levied by soverign governements. Actually, the monies collected by unions are referred to as dues.

Now, what was yer question again?

In a TAX YEAR you can spend 91 days in the UK. If more, you might pay tax on global earnings. Remitting money does not make it taxable.

You should remember that HMG is broke and those nice ConDems really need every penny that you can pay in taxes. They really want that replacement for Trident and to finish those vitally important aircraft carriers.
