I realise I'm looking for something difficult but....
I'm trying to find schools that hire for short term (2-3 months) periods in June/July/August, or methods of picking up private classes (this is common in Korea, is it done at all in Mexico?). I want to teach in Mexico for longer periods in the future, but this is all the time I can afford at present. I thought it would be a good idea to check it out for a short term and familiarise myself with the local industry. I have experience teaching, but I'll be starting all over again in Mexico.
I'm just starting my search, so any info, tips, reality checks, or suggestions are more than welcome.

There are a LOT of people looking for exactly the same thing. It's hard enough to find summer positions without all the competition.

However, I know that our parent org Innovative English needs someone, and can sometimes accommodate a short term stay. Can you email me at [email protected] ? Attach a resume please.

I think your best bet would be to try some organization of the type Guy mentioned. Short-term jobs are very hard to find in general, even harder in the summer, at least in the part of the country where I am. July-August is vacation time. Many who can afford to take English classes spend those months at their summer houses at the beach. Lots of schools are either closed or run very limited programs during most of the summer.
