Google... there are a number of Omani websites that list all the private and public colleges...

If people are interested, let them do the legwork...

Here is a list of universities in Oman by international 'web ranking'...
http://www.4icu.org/om/
SQU comes out top in 739th place. Al Mussanah College of Technology is ranked 8,633rd....so there's room for improvement.

And, wikipedia provides listings of links to the private colleges,
as well as the public ones in Oman, at the bottom of this webpage...

Pleased to be of service,

Geronimo

Krasnykamen,

The 7 colleges of Higher Technology operated by the Ministry of Manpower are in Al-Mussana, Ibra, Ibri,Muscat, Nizwa,Salalah and Shinas.

It took me precisely 2 minutes to Google this. It's a bit worrying if you cannot do the same!

Or most likely insane/naive, unless you like working in a hot, open prison, with no alcohol or dating chances?

What do you mean no alcohol? Booze is easily available and legal in Oman if you need it. Every hotel serves it. A liquor license is available to buy at the government stores.

Only Saudi and Kuwait are dry...
