"A Gay Prince"
Could be a good title for a theatrical tragedy. But seriously, if Saudia is the proprieter of Islam how can this kind of activity be allowed to continue? Shouldn't there be some sort of Saudi black opps that cleans these things up?

This has got to be one of the most confusing paragraphs I've ever seen in a published news story:
"Before the start of yesterdays trial, he changed his story on the basis that the jury know he has changed his story to admit killing his aide but denies murder."
Or is it just that I'm not comprehending too well today?
Regards,
John |

Well, Saudia is not the proprietor of Islam, and nobody owns Islam except God.
Saudia cannot prevent a criminal act which was carried out outside its border!
The Saudi black opps should clean themselves before cleaning anything else, this is politics!

Well, John, it seems your linguistic neurons are switched off today!
Different countries/states use different terminologies/interpretation of unlawful act of manslaughter! May be the intention of the Saudi prince was not to kill, but only punish his servant? can we say that his act is an involuntary manslaughter? Let the court decides? |

Quote: |
Police experts found forensic evidence from Al Saud on Mr Abdulazizs underwear. Despite this, the prince continued to deny he was gay.
But Mr Laidlaw said: The evidence establishes quite conclusively that he is either gay or that he has homosexual tendencies.
There is clear evidence, over and above the bite marks, that there was also a sexual element to his mistreatment of the victim.
A search of the princes laptop revealed he looked at gay massage and escort agency websites, jurors were told.
He was spotted flirting with barmen and used male prostitutes at least twice during his stay, the jury was told.
The prince told police he was a friend and equal of Mr Abdulaziz, the adopted son of middle-class Saudi parents, and that his aide travelled with him everywhere.
But the court heard how Mr Abdulaziz flew in economy while Al Saud went first class. It was also said the servant walked two steps behind his master and slept most nights on the floor of the hotel room they shared.
Jonathan Laidlaw QC, prosecuting, said: Theirs was a far more complicated relationship than the defendant was prepared to admit and there was an abusive undertone to it. |

I wonder if I could get fired for reading this story at work?
I am surprised I must admit. Wouldn't this guy have had some kind of immunity from prosecution? |

That was my initial reaction too. However, he wasn't on an official state visit, he was living in the country, so maybe that makes a difference?
By the way, does the title 'prince' in Saudi always carry the same weight as in the UK? I mean the UK has only 5 princes, while Saudi has several thousand. Is it the case that this alleged murderer might be the equivalent of fairly low-ranked UK royalty/gentry, like a Baronet or Knight, but still be referred to as 'prince' because Saudi doesn't have any title but that for its male royalty?
Also, can these princes be prosecuted in Saudi? If he had done this in the KSA, would we even hear about it?

No. A real Saudi prince has more powers than a prince in the UK.

Well, in the Magic Kingdom they do not put CCTV cameras in the residence of princes! So, if he had done this in the Magic Kingdom, there will be no recorded evidence! |

Remember the case of the Emirati prince who was on video torturing and running over with his SUV one of his Afghan workers last year? Well, if there was no video, you would never hear about it.
Same with this case, if this happened in Saudi and no one else came to know of it outside the palace, it would NEVER be reported. What would happen is they would contact the family of the poor sex slave and give them some money (enough to last them their lives) to shut them up and keep them happy.
Reporting it would be akin to admitting that not all princes are perfect Muslims, which of course, is not possible. They are all great Muslims and great humans, and live their lives by The Book. |

Dear trap,
Well, this prince certainly seems to be living by the book, However, in his case, the book in question was written by Krafft-Ebing.

Well, Simpson, do you know why MOSSAD can? Because they do not respect the sovereignty of other countries. And the mother of all MOSSAD scandals is the spying on Uncle Sam classified military information, and Simpson is wasting his time in TORA BORA!
