Hi all,
I have recently accepted an offer for a job in hk. I am currently waiting for my working visa to be processed.
I have a British passport, so I know I can enter HK for a stay of up to 3 months without a visa.
If i enter HK before my working visa is processed will this be problematic? And what should I fill out on the entry card for the purpose of entering HK. |

I did this in 2002 but not sure of the rules now.
My visa was being processed and so I got a visa stamp when I arrived at the airport (not sure what I put as my reason for entry) and then went with the school to get my visa. Immigration then told the school to write a letter to explain why I had come without the visa and it was issued a couple of days later.
Some other friends came without the visa and the school applied and they got the visa and had to go to Macau to activate it.
I would contact Immigration or the school though to see what the rules are now as they change and I know that the person who replaced me at one school was advised not to come before the visa arrived.
Whatever you do - don't work without the visa as that could affect your position. |
