Anyone have any advice or experience regarding serviced apartments in Hong Kong?

Hi !

A few years ago, there was a Roman Catholic organisation called Caritas that ran a couple of apartment blocks/lodges - not sure if they still do.

Anyway, do a google search on " Caritas - serviced apartments - hk". If no luck (maybe, Caritas might have changed its name !), try the RC diocese's website - go to its social welfare agencies.

Good luck,

Peter

Apart from serviced apartments, another option (especially if you expect to do most of your eating outside of home) is to contact one of the guest houses in, say, the Causeway Bay area, and see if they might agree to a long-term rental arrangement. However, you should be aware that the rooms in such guest houses are a "bit on the small side" !

hi, read with interest about your Q. my family go to honkers every year or so to visit the extended family and in the past 5 years have been staying in serviced apts rather than hotels as they are cheaper and offer a more home from home feel. you can rent them from 1 week up to months! also, you have a great choice of no. of rooms etc there are loads about as many are owned by people who live abroad and want to rent out while they are away. my cousin living in hk knows more exact detail if you need info i can get more for you. i off hand don't know it.

I agree with Peter - the Caritas apartments are well recommended and still very much in operation - I have a friend who's stayed there for years and know of others who have used them for long periods. The only catch (maybe!) is that you're not supposed to have guests staying overnight. Wink

they are polite, on time, and the rooms are clean and modern. 8500 for the nicer one. 7500 for the smaller but still quite nice one. i saw several other serviced apts and none were nearly as nice. all the other similar priced serviced apts you see advertising were lame. dingy or price shifting or an hour late or taking you to see one waaaaaay out of your price range after you havfe told the office what u want or during a second showing taking you to the same place or, my favorite, taking me to a place with several people still there and with no plans of leaving!!!!! cant think of the company names. email me if u like. good luck. now i am subletting in kowloon to save money.
