WOW!!!
I check the forum a few days later and see A LOT of feedback and related conversations. AWESOME
Anyways, thank you everyone for all the information being shared here. From what I have read, it seems as though word of mouth from your first couple of students is a better way to attract more students.
Has anyone tried going into factories looking for students? If so, what was the success rate and how much income potential is there?
I'm sure that the workers do not earn a lot but maybe group classes could benefit the teacher? |
A factory worker in Mexico makes about $300 US per month. They often work 10 hour days, 6 days week. They often have only a 6th or a 9th grade education. Now why would a factory worker want to take (and PAY) for English classes? |

I had a small restaurant's kitchen assistant take classes every day because he wanted to work in an international hotel. Some have ambition despite their low pay and formal education but I agree that it's not really worth your time going down that route as the potential is too small. |

Factory workers are one thing. Factory managers and administration are quite another.
Now, if you're talking about the service sector, or management level in whichever industry, then there is a lot of work there. In Mexico City, the chain schools have sales teams all over this lucrative market...very big. |
