Recently, I saw some FTs, out of the training, commenting on a local TV station, and one of them said
Quote: |
Now, I understand why the locals stand in lineups so close to each other |
I am wondering what this training is all about as one of my new coworkers has been directed to "get trained" there. Have any of you been to it or heard of it, and if so, could you provide a bit more than I have got from the station? |

FTE training? A degree + experience and a real MAEd TESOL degree should not require any FTE training. Are they requiring real certified or MA teachers to get this training too?
Sounds like a $ scam to milk FT's. |

I agree MA holders shouldn't be asked for the training, and depending on what they'd teach, I don't even think the BA holders should be bothered. The FT in case teaches "Oral English", and he has been told the training would provide him with "hints" how to teach locals as well as the inside of the local culture. By the way, this FT says he doesn't have to pay for the training.
In any case, we are puzzled if the training is professional, cultural or both, and so we'd appreciate any feedback on the topic. |

Other than the avoiding the 3 Ts what more do you really need to be told that you can't figure out the hard way?
Nothing like a series of screw ups to keep an FT on their toes. |
