Hi yall,

There are 2 (or 3) totally different things I would like to get info on.

Confused What's the situation with SARS in every day life situations? Are people in Taiwan panicking and running for their lives? Is it rather safe to go to Taiwan? My wife and I will be moving to TAINAN the last week of May. We don't want it to be the last thing we ever do. I know it's a dangerous virus (actually, apparently 2 into 1), but I want ot make the move anyway. At the same time, I don't want it to be the last thing I ever do in my life.

Cool On a totally different note, any interesting expat bars in Tainan? I heard the nightlife is a little boring in that particular county, but still, there must be a place where teachers and foreigners hang out, just so the blues don't get so blue.

Wink Finally, how much does a king size mattress go for? I guess this is the first thing we'll be buying once we get our first apartment... If it's anything like in Montreal, I better bring more cash than I thought (we'll be coming with the equivalent of 4K$ Canadian).

Ciao ciao.

SARS -> It sounds like things are not as bad as it was feared. Much worse in Hong Kong and China.

BARS -> Willy's, The Green House, and The Armory are some of the popular hangouts for foreigners in Taiwan. For more information, go to:

Sorry, I have no information about mattresses.

From Wiki - As of May 2006, the spread of SARS has been fully contained, with the last infected human case seen in June 2003
