I dont think one looks better according to where it was done...but thats just my impression. I dont think there is an Ivy League/Oxbridge thing for CELTA courses.
Where do you live?
Two schools of thought really. Doing it in-country offers you a chance to experience the country and culture before you work there, and a training centre may be able to help you get your first interviews and job. Some employers in-country may prefer to interview local candidates too.
But also, the course can be a stress laden experience. Some people prefer to complete the course in the relative comfort and security of their home country, and use it as an opportunity to make local contacts helping them find jobs at home as well as abroad. Plus, if you live local to the CELTA training school, overheads are also reduced. When the course is completed, you can then take your time before rushing overseas into the first job you are offered.
I chose option 2, but many people are equally happy going with option 1 |
