|
|
Hi! ECC is asking for a copy of the short version of my resume to be included in an envelope along with a variety of other documents. They provided a list of information they want on it, such as name, address, education history, and so on. For those who have interviewed with ECC, what exactly they are looking for here? Do they just want that requested information listed on a sheet of paper, or is there more to a "short version" of a resume than this?
Thanks in advance for any input. |

Maybe they're used to extensive CV's instead of 1-2 page resumes. Give them something no longer than 2 pages and be happy.
Name
address
education history ought to take up half of one page already, so depending on what other work experience you have, fill up the half page and part of another. Depending on your experience, you may want to list only the teaching-related stuff. Can't really give you better advice without knowing how much teaching experience you've had.
Keep your job descriptions to bullets, not paragraphs, too. |

Do they already have a regular copy of your resume and want a short version in addition to it?
If so, perhaps they want a short version with only the info needed for them to fill out the COE application form which asks for things such as name, address, highest level of education (institute, field of study, date of graduation), number of years education received through English, job history (employer, position, dates), etc.
But instead of asking here and having people guess at what ECC could be asking for in hopes that an (ex) ECC employee might turn up to give you a more definate answer, why don't you ask ECC directly? They are the only ones who actually know what they want and why. |

I recently applied and got an offer of employment (awaiting placement). I was a bit confused about the C.V part too...I'm assuming it's the same list and it seems a little short. At the time I emailed the Australian rep to see exactly what to include, and it was a standard resume, but they wanted to make sure that that specific information was included. So I also included a full employment history just with period of employment and job titles but no detailed description of what I did...I'm sure they don't want to know everything I do in a lab. I also included two job references but apparently they aren't contacted unless they're related to teaching. I also included a couple of interests/hobbies, relevant training etc Good luck! |
