I thought you were leaving this year. Question Is life in Oman that good? i've got two male co-workers looking to go to the ME and are trying to decide between Oman and the UAE.

Here's the general consensus regarding the two: (not my own opinion, because I haven't worked in the UAE)

* Oman: lower salaries but still easy to save money; laid-back culture; friendly people and students; not a lot of nightlife/shopping

* UAE, esp. Dubai: more money but lots more ways to blow your money; decent nightlife/shopping; less-friendly locals & students--more attitudes, more arrogance
