Yet again, another attempt at being constructive and helpful here on daves is BLOWN AWAY by someone intent on destroying good intentions. Interestingly they don't offer alternative perspectives.
This is the type of negativity I was talking about.

The thing is, is that the OP was asking about writing a book about teaching ESL a/o living in Mexico, not writing material for ESL. A big difference IMHO. |
I interpreted the thread as asking whether anyone had thought about branching away from teaching with the intention of supporting themselves by writing ESL materials. This book is an ESL material. The method of allowing people to pay what they feel is just [I thought] was an idea for anyone who is a new starter in the world of writing.
Sarcastic comment not required

If you want to plug your acquaintance's product, there are better threads to do it in. |
I'm not trying to plug the book. I don't need to. I have used it and I know its very useful. As previously mentioned, I was trying to be useful for fellow teachers reading the post

I'm actually desperate for material for my high school reading workshop class, so thought I'd grab a copy for the 'free trial'. Guess what? It doesn't let me. So, it's not really as you say, is it. |
Maybe you're so desperate that you failed to understand the necessity to click where it says DOWNLOAD NOW
never mind! In an effort to be helpful- although I suspect it will be criticised- here's the direct link. Simply click on it and the two stories will download in PDF format.

Fair enough, I shouldn't have judged so quickly.

Perhaps I was, perhaps my Mac/Firefox was misbehaving as it often likes to do.
Regardless, thank you for the direct link (which Firefox read without a problem).
And now if you'll excuse me, I have a big plate of crow to eat.
