Of course being a coordinator has the reward of being able to influence the English department;
To help positively influence EFL teaching at the institution
To work more closely with teachers, students and other stakeholders in order to have a bigger impact upon teaching
To see he bigger picture and help fellow teachers to better themselves.
Maybe my glass is half full. |

All good points but I personally like being close to the students and watching them progress. I'm just not a business person at heart. |

Thats a very good point, but imagine...
As coordinator you may not be closer to your class of students, but through your teaching team you could influence all of the students learning. |

In a forward thinking progressively managed school, I'm able to do all these things as a teacher.

My glass is full, and my eyes are wide open.

My ego is such that I don't feel I have to influence all of the students learning. I only worry about my own.

This post wasn't about you Dragonlady.
Sorry if you felt it was. It was a general post replying to the general thread concerning coordinators.
