My trusty Clarks are beginning to break at the seams. I guess after ten years they should. Where can I get a nice pair of dress shoes in a size 13? I know this is basically impossible, but what about having some made? And will they be good quality.
Also, i am a bit of a fatty, so no size 40 jean anywhere? does anybody know where there is a tailor that will make me jeans?
thanks |

I wear size 12 and have not found a single pair in shops. I got some made at a shop at 97 le Thanh Ton, for around $80. They are OK, not outstanding. I don't think I'll bother again, to be honest, and just get several pairs next time I'm overseas.
I wear size 36 jeans and have found some that fit. I'd say size 40 would be a step too far. I had the most success at a couple of shops on Nguyen Dinh Chieu, around Truong if I remember correctly. |

Finding larger sized for jeans is very difficult.
I know one person who actually had them made at a tailor. Tailor did a good job, but again, you've got to find a tailor that understand bigger sized and the possible need for that "relaxed" fit.
Seriously, having someone in the west buying them for you and mailing them (rip off the tags) would be a good option, if you can wear standard sizes. |

yeah i figured my best option was a tailor or mail. but on a side note, it's not like there aren't any porkers in Vietnam. Where hell do they get jeans? So if anyone knows of a radical tailor, and cobbler for that matter, to suit my needs, let me know.
