The discussions I found on this subject were over 4 years old. I wonder if anyone has had any recent experience with this organization (or knows of someone who has), and if so, could you please share your experiences/impressions? Seems this company used to be considered 'illegal' and I would like to know if this is still the case? I'd be greatly appreciative! Thanks in advance! |

I work for Korakuen (now called Londate), last 7 years. What would you like to know? |

Hi thanks for responding.. As far as I know, the organization for which I interviewed is still call Korakuen English Center... I would like to know the reputation, satisfaction/dissatisfaction, situation, pleasantness/unpleasantness, advantages/disadvantages, etc. involved when working for/through them.. If you have had the same situation for seven years, I assume you are satisfied with your position? Thanks for the information in advance!! |

Yeah, same outfit, Londate is the parent company (you can check out their website). I've spent the last 7 years with them and have never had any problems, paid on time, pay increase every year, paid sick days if needed, fully paid school holidays (4 months a year), time off during the school year to return to my home country (twice for personal reasons when I needed them, I also saw this with a co-worker who needed a few months off work due to a family problem, KEC was very good and held her job until she returned to Japan 2 months later), good office support if I needed it. Nothing bad to say about them at all. In my 7 years I have only met with Mr. Iwata (head of KEC) twice, once at my initial interview and about 5 years later by chance at school. Once in a school your on your own, some people may consider it a negative but it suits me, I like to get things done without someone looking over my shoulder. In the end it's really up to you to develop a relationship with your school more than the company that sent you there. Anything else let me know. |

Japan95, what is the best way to inquire about possible positions with Londate? I went to the website and I did not find much of anything there. |
