I've been teaching EFL in a language centre in Beijing for the last ten years plus have an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Leicester Uni.

Which ME country pays the best salary and is it possible to earn GBP3000 per month?

Thanks for your help.

Not many employers pay that much. You could contact the Wing Commanders and Flight Sergeants running British Aerospace. They are into that sort of dosh. Some tell me it is a deeply rewarding and spiritually satisfying experience.

I think I detect some sarcasm there... Laughing

As to finding the highest pay... look at Saudi and the UAE.

Keep in mind it is not always about how much salary you make but how much you save, where you live and what your accommodations are like and how many hours you will be expected to put in both in teaching and in office hours.

KSA pays more but in the KSA getting housing on a compound is the way to go.

Jeddah offers the most opportunity for recreational opportunities. However, if you are young and still like clubbing and drinking then living close to Bahrain either in the UAE or the KSA is a worthwhile goal.

They only hire men. They do hire non-Brits at a pinch. I was recently offered a job there but my new bride made a big fuss so we're now together in my new job. It was hard to turn this down as the salary was really high, not to mention the benefits and travel perks. However, I want to make this second marriage work. My first one was a disaster as my ex ran off with someone she met in Qatar.

The phrase 'That's little more information than we need' springs to mind here.
