Wow, this thread is old. But seeing how they just announced new positions, http://www.eslcafe.com/joblist/index.cgi?read=38388, I was wondering if anyone could provide any concrete information on the interview process. Specifically, what kind of questions to anticipate. NOTE: I'm already in Saudi, making substantially less for having to put up with similar BS. If I'm going to be here, I might as well get PAID.
Thanks, any input appreciated. |

A colleague has applied for a job with Raytheon in Afghanistan. The interview process involves going back 10 years in your employment history, a medical exam, lots of forms and being granted a security clearance. I gather that the security clearance involves Raytheon reps possibly speaking to family members, neighbors, friends and former and current employers. He received an email from them with 5 attachments to fill out, he promptly responded and then found an email in his inbox the next day with 21 attachments to fill out. He says that they can't give him a firm start date, but after the successful medical, is assured a job. Could be in two weeks from now, could be in six months.
I hope this helps. Good luck! |

Sounds like a more-or-less SF86 investigation. It's typical for positions that require a clearance. Since they went back 10 years, it was a Top Secret clearance rather than the 7-year Secret clearance.
For what it's worth, the investigators are OPM-contracted like a former neighbor of mine used to be. |

So when my students tell me how good I look, they are looking for more than a high mark??? |
