Is there a average pay for second tier cities?
Also I have trouble finding public school teacher positions in china. Most seem to be language mills... Why? |

Well, if you seek employment in the middle of the year, it can't be expected to be easy to find something.
You have to use a bit of logic here. Teachers will not give 6 months' notice. Try applying for public school jobs in the late spring or mid-summer when schools start to get desperate.
Language mills will always be hiring year round though. |

As above.
However, I would consider the training school positions as they might end up being a lot better than a public school position. Stating that it only seems to be language mills hiring makes it sound like a bad thing. I know some members may complain about them, but depending on your circumstance, they may be as good, or 100 times better than the public school system. |
