|
|
I am a High School English teacher of 2 years, with a BA, in English Education. I have 15 graduate hours in school coun.
I am wanting to enjoy this summer and work in a summer camp as an English teacher. Is this possible? I do not have a cert, but am looking at a few that would only take 4 weeks or so. Does anyone have any advice for me to get this process underway?
What Cert would you recommend and why?
I am most interested in Eurpoe (as I have traveled for fun and it was a great exp) but would take a variety of different places etc. However I would be willing to go just about anywhere--Asia, Latin American etc.
Thanks in advance. |

In England most summer schools specify European Union citizens due to working restrictions. The same could be true in much of Europe |

OUtside of the UK, there seem to be lots of camps in Spain and Italy. IN Asia, try China, Korea, maybe taiwan and Japan? latin America, forget about it. I've never seen camp jobs there. |

There are some in Mexico City, but you generally need to be in town already to land them. |

You should also be aware that the academic year in many countries is NOT the same as in the US (as examples: Thailand's schools break from March to May with the short break in Oct, Korea's (longer) break is Jan-Feb with a short break in August)
so the dates for "summer camps" will not always coincide with your holidays (I assume you intend to stay working at your current job).
You are also aware that (for legal work) most of western Europe is a no-work allowed zone for most Americans.
