|

Hey all.
I'm noticing a few differences in categories for such things here, and I'm wondering if anyone has any real experiences between them - especially regards to treatments, pay, conditions, etc.
There are Da Xue's - "big schools" which would be a university and
"Xue Yuan's" which apparently gets translated as 'college' but is apparently between a vocational school and a university, as well as the private institutes and schools. I'm in a XueYuan which is called a uni, but I've had my students tell me that this should, in fact, be considered better than a DaXue - although all the top uni's here are DaXue's...??? |

In general, I would expect a "daxue" 大学 to carry more prestige than a "xueyuan" 学院。 I am sure there are exceptions. Do the students have some reason for considering their college "better"? |
