Do you know if they are expanding their engineering programs? there was an ad that says... "Due to expansion in our Engineering Programs the HCT invites applications ..."
are they really expanding or its just a way to get their depleted pool in shape?
Any idea? |

With all your posts today, are you applying to teach engineering or English? Since this is an ESL/EFL board, there may not to be anyone here who actually knows what is going on in an academic program.
Does it really matter if they are expanding or not? The job will by the same.

i would not doubt that they are starting an engineering program. they are getting ready to meet the need of the nuclear power program. i know from a friend that they are starting a nursing degree next year. he was teaching in the nursing diploma program and was told that he could apply to hct, but after doing some research, he decided that he would pass. once again (this is starting to become a habit ) i wold have to agree with VS. same ole asylum, same ole wardens.

HCT is ramping up their engineering program to meet the needs of the planned nuclear plants? At the same time, it's expanding the nursing degree...can't ANYBODY on this board do the Maths...fallout, anyone?

What could possibly go wrong there?
Well, if there's a south wind, it might solve the Iranian problem. |

But in the UAE, it will be expats doing all the important work at the plants... the plant builders will be running it with another crew of efficient and well-trained fellows from the sub-continent. And this is a serious statement, not tongue in cheek. (the only locals will be the usual pretend management of tea drinkers and phone chatters who merely collect a giant paycheck and swan in irregularly.)
Much more scary that Egypt has been talking a nuclear plant for years. Anyone who has ever lived in Egypt and seen how they "maintain and repair" things can only quake in fear at the mere thought.

What do you mean = won't have to show up? More like, haven't been showing up for years. There are some very dedicated and hard working nationals in many sectors, unfortunately, they are vastly outnumbered by the lazy and inadequate entitled members of society.
I wish the dedicated and hardworking were more recognized and rewarded by their efforts, they are too often penalized by being lumped in with parasites. |
