I am planning to come to Thailand and looking for a job once a arrive. Thus, I would be on a tourist visa until I find suitable employment.
Can I open a bank account on a tourist visa?
Can I get a credit card?
Can I get health insurance? |

Maybe, no, sort-of.
Bank account = maybe but it won't be easy to do without the work permit.
No chance of a Thai credit card without the job, certificate of employment, proof of suitable income, "B" or "O" visa and work permit.
Health insurance is always available at a price. It won't be local or cheap but you can get some.
Side note: medical services are CHEAP compared to most places in the west (ESPECIALLY the US). A course of antibiotics (amoxicillin, 500mg, 10 tabs) would cost about US$1 at any pharmacy. Ibuprofen is 1 baht per tablet, and a basic doctors visit is 30 baht (before tests).

You can easily get health insurance. You don't need a work permit. Prices of course depend on coverage. |

Most bank branches require you to have a Non Imm visa and / or work permit.
However, it is an individual Branch Managers decision.Just because one branch of a bank turns you down doesn't mean to say that another branch of the same bank will.
Branches in very touristy areas such as Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui....tend to be more 'friendly'.
Credit Card? No chance under your present circumstances.
Health insurance is available but as the other poster states...........treatment and medications are very cheap here. |

Not sure if it is still the case, but you may want to try the Bangkok Bank branch on Sukhumvit near Soi 8 in Bangkok, as they used to be willing to let you open up a savings account without a work permit. It came complete with an atm card that could easily be upgraded to a debit card. Good luck! |
