Sadly many employers will use the excuse of not receiving proper notice to avoid paying gratuities. You would likely win a court case if you were in the country to pursue it, but your costs would probably exceed what you have coming.

yeah i agree with VS  ,
unfortunately, without strong government enforcement of proper labor practices, even western admin will do things that would be highly questionable in western countries. heck, even the premier islamic international school in the country has the reputation of having funny money practices.
other than that, what else can be said about the place?
