As a recent non-traditional college graduate, I was excited to learn of the possibility to use my degree to teach English in a foreign country. The opportunity to teach someone else while also learning a foreign language and culture really appeals to me. After doing some research, I applied with Amity Corporation and have just received the news that I have been hired to teach English in Japan.
While I will be able to take on this endeavor, Im not all that well-off financially. In the process of researching this position, I came across at least one Web site that offers grants for people who have secured their own positions overseas (the InterExchange Foundations Christianson Grant for instance). However, this grant requires that the individual be between the ages of 18 and 28 and I am 31-years-old.
So my question is this: does anyone know of any similar grants available to ESL teachers?
Thanks! |
