I suppose that he was going from the reality that few of us ever see large quantities of cash in the US. We never use cash... a check and credit card society for years now. You only see large sums of cash being flashed by criminal sorts... mostly drug dealers and pimps. It is assumed that any large amount of cash is sourced illegally, and it is usually true here. I actually had great difficulty learning to use only cash abroad.

I haven't had more than $10 cash on my person when I am in the US since the 70s.

It is easier to lose cash, have it stolen, etc. Lose or have your cards stolen and you call the issuer and notify them and they cancel the cards, etc. I would feel scared to walk around with large amounts of cash on me.

Even when I lived in a cash society like this, I never carried "large amounts" of cash. I had an ATM card and withdrew it as I needed it.

And with the Middle East bank based credit cards, don't count on any of the protections that we get back home.

I didn't know a British company had an outfit in Alabama. Makes sense, though, what with cheap land prices and all. Good stuff.

Oh, fine, I'll stop. I'm sure that one's been done before.

It was so much funnier in my head.

What was the funniest was that Mr NCTBA often has this same problem with "humor" ... Laughing

I've noticed something similar in high school sports. When the team is doing well, it's due to great athletes. When it's not, it's poor coaching. What's with that?

Rather than same as when our students don't pass the exams, it isn't because they never did their homework, or study, or stay awake in class... it is the teacher's fault!! Cool
