|
|
I have a few medical conditions that require certain meds that I have to take daily. The condition does not affect my ability to teach or conduct daily activities. If I have my meds, it is easier, but I can live without them if I have to.
My doctor here in Korea will give me a few months supply to bring with me to Oman that should cover me until I can get to the clinic and see if I can get the same meds there.
My question is this: Is it possible to bring meds into Oman or will they be confiscated at the point of entry. I don't want to pay for something here that will be trashed upon arrival in Oman. |

I brought in a few US medications every year... mostly OTC stuff like vitamins... and it is likely that you will be able to get the same meds in Oman at the local pharmacy... even without a prescription, presuming that they are not narcotics.
To be honest, no one ever looked. Carry a prescription or note from your doctor (in English) just in case anyone asks.

mine are prescription meds and are very expensive. I have the prescription, so I should be okay.
Is there anything that can't (shouldn't be brought)? Movies, CDs ect that may cause problems at entry? |

Well as to purchasing there, I too am referring to prescription drugs which are wonderfully cheap in Oman. A refill that cost $100 in the US cost $7 in Oman... same bottle from the same manufacturer. Very few medication require a prescription in the Gulf.
Don't bring in porn? I haven't heard of them taking anything lately, but someone may chime in to update.

Dear Sleepwalker,
Even, say, a prescribed hydrocodone?
Regards,

prescription drugs here are not expensive either, thanks to the national heath insurance. But even with the NHI, my meds are $100 for a month supply. Plus, this is a pre-existing condition, so I don't know how that will affect the price. But it is nice to know that prescription drugs are so inexpensive there.
I knew about the porn restrictions. |
