Intercity buses in Mexico are quite nice (much better than Greyhound!). Be sure to take first class buses, though, or you may end up sharing your seat with a chicken. Very Happy If your eventual destination is Mexico City, you will be in for a series of very long bus rides, and you will probably end up paying just as much in air and bus fares as you would have if you had just flown directly to the capital. On the other hand, busing it from Cancun to the D.F., you'll get to see a lot of the countryside and get a sense of what a beautiful country Mexico is!

Thats what I was thinking! I want to go to Merida and "just see". Figure if I cant find a job there then go to DF and tough it out. I love seeing the country side. When I was in Africa, for the 1st time in life, I saw the different stages of coffee on a trip through the country side. I got a new camera and I am all set! If anything, I have money for a return flight.

If you've spent time in Africa, then the hot muggy climate of Mrida shouldn't be a problem for you. It's a lovely city, but the weather isn't for everyone, especially not for me. Wink
