Greetings Folks!

Does anybody have any internet links or, contacts and suggestions pertaining to teaching positions in the Philippines? I am very much interested in living and working there. Thanks.

Check out the Job Information Journal/Asia/Philippines. It is not easy to find a job there, but not impossible, either and if you can get one at an Int'l school, you should be OK.

Keep in mind that in the Philippines you can start a business for a few thousand dollars or less ( in the name of your Filipino partner, of course). So, if you have a girlfriend or a wife there, you may consider that avenue.

The peso is at 55 to the dollar right now. Even if you get a job at a language school, would a $250 a month salary appeal to you?

I am working in Saudi now and spending my time in the Philippines during vacations. If you decided to do that and if you could save enough money in the ME and invest in a house in the West ( rent it out), then you could just live off the rent in the Philippines forever. A much better alternative.

You might check out the call centers... they hire teachers to help agents improve their language skills. They have locations in Manila and Cebu. Maybe other locations.
Two companies are Sykes and Convergys.
